As e-bikes become more and more mainstream, we're trying to decide whether this is something we need to be involved in.
Si was really impressed with the attitude and setup from Bosch when he did his e-bike technical training with them, so that was a brand we'd be keen to work with if we go ahead with an e-bike brand.
After a bit of research, Moustache Bikes looked like a promising brand to look into further. They're a French company with a large range of commute and city bikes, but more importantly to us - a large range of full suspension and hardtail mountain bikes equipped with Bosch motors!
We've borrowed a bike from them, a 2017 Samedi 27 Trail 6. It's here for all of us at the shop to ride, but also for anyone who's curious to give a decent e-bike a go.
- 27.5"+ wheels
- 140mm travel
- Bosch Performance CX 250w motor, 500wh battery
- Sram NX drivetrain
- Suntour Aion 35 fork
- Magura MT4 brakes
We expect to have the bike until mid-August, so please call in or get in touch if you'd like to give it a go.
We're not charging to try this bike, although donations to Edale Mountain Rescue and/or Ride Sheffield will be very much appreciated. We'll need to see photo ID and swipe a card as deposit, but no demo fee as such.
We'd encourage you to try this bike even if you're not thinking of an e-Bike. A little outside the usual approach for a demo bike, but we'd love feedback from some different riders. E-bikes are perhaps a little misunderstood, so an open mind is essential!
Shop with confidence.
